Church of the Brethren Workcamps Make Huge Contributions to A Place Apart In July, A Place Apart was deeply blessed by the presence of more than 40 high school youth, who came to work and learn at A Place Apart. They were part of the Church of the Brethren's vibrant youth workcamp program, which every year sends hundreds of youth all over the world to serve and grow in faith. Originally scheduled for a single week in July, another week was added to accommodate an unexpectedly large enrollment. The youth contributed to A Place Apart by building wilderness trails, renovating buildings, and constructing a tent platform in the woods. In turn, the youth learned how to live in greater connection to the earth and one another. They lived showered in the woods, used A Place Apart's composting toilets, and worked and worshipped together. A Place Apart thanks the youth and their advisors (pictured above and below) for their contributions.
