A Virtual Tour of the A Place Apart Grounds

A Place Apart has full use of two nearly adjacent properties on a gorgeous mountain ridge in Putney, Vermont.  These privately-owned grounds are made available to the A Place Apart community and its guests, as a home for A Place Apart.

The house is over 100 years old but is newly renovated in 2007, with all-new bathroom fixtures, paint, and ceiling paneling.

Here is a closer look at some of the rooms available to guests at the main house.

Return to the main house.

The living room is large enough for the whole community to gather.  It is the central meeting place in the house.

The fully-appointed kitchen includes a wood stove and dining table, with plenty of space to prepare community meals.

The sitting room is a cozy space at the top of the stairs, where one can read, rest, or watch A Place Apart's only TV (cable channels not included).

The downstairs bedrooms each have a double bed, and are simply and lovingly furnished.  The room pictured here is just off the living room.

The monk's room gets its name from its small size and single bed.  It is the perfect place for one who is seeking solitude.

The upstairs suite includes the house's largest bedroom and adjoining sun porch.

The lower deck is a large stone patio at the west end of the house.
