THRESHOLD

As we begin to seek something more for our lives, something deeper, something real and sustainable, a threshold emerges before us. Stepping through this threshold remains elusive. We are drawn by a connecting force that beckons, and held back by a leaden force that renders us powerless, fearful, and impotent. We can feel trapped within a room whose door appears to be open.

We do not know what awaits beyond the threshold, but we come to believe it is something vitally important to our well-being. We are frightened by the immensity of the unknown, what is impossible for us regulate, define or control. We are pulled by the enormity of what could now be possible.

Annual Gathering 2011: Thresholds
